Flashy Favors

Are you trying to come up with a creative, unique favor for your wedding guests? If so, I may have a solution for you. I recently came upon an easy, unique favor that guests would go crazy for.
It’s a cute flash drive that you personalize with pictures and your own playlist!
Photo from Real Simple.
You can upload pictures for the guests to take a look at when they get home.
Add your personalized playlist with some of your favorite songs! Guests will be excited to see
if they made the slideshow, as well as hear some of your favorite music.  It’s super easy and eco-friendly.
You can buy flash drives that fit with your color scheme, and attach a cute note
thanking the guests for sharing your special day with you.
Check out these adorable ones from Blogshop (I want one so badly!):
If you don’t have time to upload the pictures and playlist to each flash drive,
some companies will do it for you.
Check out the Plan Your Meetings website and
go to the Promote Your Message. When you order your flash drives, your sales
representative will help you with the upload process.  You can also check out Lookin Up Promotions.
If you have any creative favor ideas, I would love to hear them!  Feel free to leave us a comment.

Winter Wedding: Favor Boxes

Thanks to one of our 2010 brides, she pointed me to this link.
How adorable would these be for favor boxes for your winter wedding?
Tools and Materials
  • Clip art
  • Toilet paper or paper towel tubes
  • Brown paint
  • Glue stick
  • Craft glue
  • Hot-glue gun

  • Wooden knobs, available at michaels.com
  • Nests, available at michaels.com
  • Pine springs
  • Artificial bird
  • Glitter, available at artglitter.com
  • Candy or other small treats

    Step 1

    Prepare Tube

Use 1 3/4-inch-diameter toilet paper tubes or trimmed paper towel tubes. For each, you’ll need two 3/4-inch-wide strips from an extra tube. Glue strips in tube ends 3/16 inch from openings. Paint tube brown. Let dry.
    Step 2
    Decorate Tube
Trim clip art to wrap around tube, leaving 1/16 inch of tube showing at ends. Glue in place with glue stick. Use craft glue to secure a 1 3/4-inch-diameter wooden disk in one end of the tube to close it. Glue a wooden knob to a second disk. Glue a 3/4-inch disk to bottom of tube for balance.

    Step 3
    Add Glitter

Brush craft glue over top of tube; sprinkle with clear shard-glass glitter. Brush glue on a pine sprig; sprinkle with clear fine glitter. Mix white paint with more glue; brush on a grapevine nest, and sprinkle with clear shard-glass glitter. Brush glue on an artificial bird, avoiding beak and eyes; sprinkle with colored glass glitter. Hot-glue bird into nest, and nest and sprig onto tube. Tuck favors inside; close end with other disk.

Favors for Friday

Ever since I saw this wedding

I have had dreams of using towels as favors for a beach wedding. Yes, just like here on the left.

Using screen-printed towels as a favor is a fantastic idea. Talk about making a favor unique to your guests’ needs. When people go to the beach/pool/lake they have to take a towel, in comes your favor. Then, your guest will remember your special day, and what fun it was. Thus, they will invite you to join them. See? Win, win.

Finding someone to make these towels is easy, just check out screen-printed towels on google, or ask your local embroidery shop- most do screen-printing as well. Towels may cost more than your average chocolate in a box, but is something well worth commemorating your day.

Now don’t YOU wish you had a special towel to use on this blazing hot weekend?
Enjoy!
