Going Away Gift

Another popular honeymoon location I have heard from my brides lately is the oh-so-romantic Italy.
How cute is this gift basket from Olive and Cocoa for your best friend who has just announced their Italian honeymoon plans? This basket retails for a very reasonable $138. I promise you’ll be remembered as one of the best wedding-gift-givers!

Where are you headed on your honeymoon? Would love to hear from you!

Bridesmaid Gift That Keeps On Giving

Breast Cancer affects all of us. I don’t know one person that has not been affected by breast cancer. One of my favorite local embroidery vendors (Faye Tarshes with Red Vine Creations) has designed this gorgeous scarf. Each scarf sells for $18.00 and $3.00 from each sale is donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

In talking with Faye about this fabulous gift, she reminded me that “the $18.00 price tag is symbolic as the number 18 in Hebrew is a chai and a chai means ‘to life’.”

The daughter of a mutual acquaintance of Faye and me being diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 27, Faye felt the need to do more than prepare a meal or make a one time donation. “By doing this, I feel that with each scarf I embroider, I am helping long term,” says Faye.

What a fantastic gift for your bridesmaids as well as the moms and grandmothers of the wedding!

To order these, call Faye at 770-241-6775 or email her at Info@RedVineCreations.com.  Tell her we sent you!

I have just been introduced to the fabulosity of Olive and Cocoa.  Very high end gifts (to give to someone else or to keep for yourself – either one!) I have not seen anything on their site that is not drool-worthy.
For instance…

Just another MANic Monday…

A few weeks ago, we talked about men wearing bow-ties on their wedding day. You guys loved it. Today, we are paying a little extra attention to the men. Since we already covered attire, this week we are going to give some gift giving tips.
Gifts for groomsmen can be tricky. Buying a present for any boy is hard enough, but coming from a man makes it a little extra tricky. Here are our top five ideas for groomsmen gifts:
1. A man day-
As a groom, you have asked the special men in your life to take time out of their schedules to share in your special day with you. Pay them back by using their “gift” as a day just for the boys. Need some ideas on what to do during this day? Golf, fishing, or a football game are typically all big winners. Many of these can be combined with your bachelor party for complete guys weekend.
2. Cufflinks
For any kind of wedding gift, cufflinks are about as traditional as you can get. The perfect “timeless” gift, they are classically southern. Monograms and boys can be tricky, so go for something personalized or match the monogram with bold lines to make it a little more masculine.
These from Things Remembered are simple, yet classic:
These Lego cufflinks are the perfect gift for the boy at heart groomsmen:
And these New York Yankee’s stadium cufflinks would send any sports enthused groomsmen over the edge:
3. Flask
A flask could be one of the more “manly” things in life. Why not start your wedding weekend off right by providing your men with their own flask. With personalized options available you can make it just right for them.
4. Personalized sporting item
Whether your guys like baseball, football, golf, or anything in-between Gunther Gifts has them covered. I would be interested to know if guys would actually use a baseball bat with “Best Man” and their name stamped on it… But from a girls point of view it’s great!

5. Cigar Accessories
Men love their cigars. Personalized humidors and cigar holders are a great way to pair a personalized gift with something your groomsmen will actually use. Exclusively Weddings has some great options.
This Stainless Steel Flask and Cigar Holder provides your men with a drink and their cigar. Maybe give them this gift after the wedding…
When providing anyone with a gift, make sure it is a right fit. All of your groomsmen do not have to receive the same gift, so find something that will be a right for each guy.
A few others we love: ties that can double as their ceremony attire, beer mugs, ball-point pens, and sporting event tickets.
Did you receive a gift that you loved? Heard of one that was unique? Tell us about it.

Monogramming machine

Us Southern belle’s are known to monogram anything that will stay still long enough. Weddings and event favors are no exception. Here are some of our favorite monograms to give (and receive)!

This toggle sterling silver bracelet from Things Remembered would make a fantastic bridesmaid gift! OR, a fun gift for the bride-to-be who is getting a new monogram!

In browsing for gifts I am sure you have already stumbled upon
Iomoi. This unique site has a wide variety of gifts, all monogram-able (duh). From invitations to custom tape dispensers, this chic retailer really does have something for everyone. How fun are these plates? You can do full names, single letter monogram, or three letter monogram. With hot colors, and delightful patterns these melamine plates are sure to be a crowd favorite!
To put this next monogrammed luxury lightly: if your going to pay for it, you may as well have it monogrammed. Currently, Louis Vuitton offers hot stamping on all of their leather items. You get to pick colors, letters, and designs. And if there is one thing besides your husband you want on your arm going into marriage, its Louis.

Is your bride already registered for a solid color shower curtain to match her bathroom? Look into colors she picked for accent towels and have her shower curtain monogrammed to match! Make sure you know your bride before choosing this option. Despite (my) popular belief, not everyone loves their initials on everything. So be sure you know who you are dealing with, and that she will love it too. This idea can also be used for pillow shams!

This smaller monogram can be found at Morgan and Co

Looking for a great Winter wedding favor? These custom hot chocolate packets are sure to warm your guests up once they are home. With many options for colors and patterns, I am sure there is one perfect for your wedding decor!

For other great monogramming ideas check out Madame Monogram right here in Atlanta. Don’t worry, her ETSY store will ship all over.

Frame the [date]

As your stiletto steps into wedding season, you may be searching for the perfect gift. I cannot count the number of wedding presents I have seen in my years. From toasters, to houses everyone wants to give a memorable gift to the bride and groom. As seen in Southern Living, these “frame the date” pictures walk the perfect line of creativity and practicality.

These framed wedding dates can also serve those already married. A bride-to-be is sure to get waterworks when she presents her parents with their wedding date framed. Flowers are often used to memorialize grandparents who have passed away. Using their framed date would be such a unique way to memorialize the people who first showed you love.
Order one at framethedate.com; prices range from $75-$85

DIY kinda girl? A local craft store and digital camera would make this an easy project. First find a three opening collage frame.

This black collage frame with three openings for $39.99 on shop.hobbylobby.com would be a great option for first timers. Currently (and often), all frames are 50% off at Hobby Lobby. Once you have your frame, take a walk through your neighborhood or a local town square. Historic areas are apt to have unique numbers displayed on the outside of buildings. Numbers are easy to find, so don’t settle for three sets of similar numbers. It make take a few days to find ones right for you. Finding a 5 is going to be easier than an 89, so plan ahead. When your numbers are found, send them in black and white to your local digital printing location. Make sure your pictures fit your frame openings. Insert pictures and your perfect wedding gift is ready to go!
